Marmora & Lake

Since 1820, the Municipality has played a leading role in the development of iron mining. Iron mining was an important industry in the area during the 19th century. The village was originally named Marmora Iron Works. Although mining and lumbering have been vital to the Municipality, agriculture has probably supported more people in the area since 1850.

Located conveniently on Highway 7, between Ottawa and Toronto, this former mining village offers pristine waters, friendly faces, unique shops, fantastic eateries, and an unparalleled way of life.

There’s Always Something to do in Marmora & Lake

Marmora and Lake is a municipality along the banks of the Crowe River and Beaver Creek, about midway between Toronto and Ottawa on provincial Highway 7 in Hastings County in Central Ontario, Canada.

It is home to approximately 4,500 full-time and seasonal residents, many of whom enjoy outdoor recreation and relaxation on Crowe Lake, Crowe River, and Beaver Creek.
